Team Nova Scotia Succeeds at the Skills Canada National Competition and Lands 20 Medals on the National Stage.


In the early hours of May 24th, a team of 23 post-secondary students and apprentices from across the province, with their coaches, and delegates from Skills Canada – Nova Scotia boarded a flight for Vancouver to represent Nova Scotia at the 2022 Skills Canada National Competition. Twelve high-school students (secondary level), later joined Team Nova Scotia to compete virtually from their home classrooms.

Throughout a rigorous two days of competition action, Team Nova Scotia pushed the competition and themselves to another level. Whether they competed virtually or in-person the team worked hard, showcased their skills and talent, and represented Nova Scotia strongly!

The hard work and effort paid off and Team Nova Scotia earned 20 medals; five gold, seven silver, and eight bronze.

Colton Corkum was also awarded with the RBC Best of Region Award which is given to the best-weighted score from each competitor from each province and territory.
