Try-A-Trade® Take-Out

Try-A-Trade® Take-Out provides teachers and students with the opportunity to turn their classrooms into a workshop, a design studio, a professional kitchen, and much more. These activities have all been designed by industry leaders and allow students to get a hands-on introduction to a skilled trade or technology area. Each activity also has curriculum outcomes that have been developed by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.

What’s included with the program?

Participating teachers will receive a supply kit upon successful registration and all resources will be provided FREE OF CHARGE on behalf of Skills Canada–Nova Scotia. The supply kits include a video featuring an industry professional outlining the basics of each trade or skill area, instructions on how to complete the activity, and a page of insights into the current state of the industry within Nova Scotia!

PLEASE NOTE: There are a limited number of supply kits available for each individual activity, so please sign up as soon as possible to ensure you secure your supply kit.

For more information on Try-A-Trade® Take-Out please contact Jamie White, Program Coordinator.
