Skilled Futures – Green Energy Workshop

The Skilled Futures in Green Energy Workshop is a brand-new, interactive experience that introduces students to renewable energy technologies while highlighting the skilled trades shaping the future of energy.

Students explore a range of green energy alternatives and how these technologies are designed, built, and maintained through skilled trades. The workshop emphasizes how trades and technology collaborate in real-world energy systems.

Students then work in teams to design their own renewable energy product or business and present their idea in a short pitch-style challenge, building skills in problem-solving, innovation, and communication. The workshop also includes live demonstrations of a green hydrogen fuel cell car and hands-on activities.

  • Delivered in-person from January to June
  • Offered to Grade 8 students across the province
