Learn. Try. Compete.

The Nova Scotia Skills Competition is back for 2021!

This spring, Skills Canada – Nova Scotia is proud to be offering secondary students in the province three unique ways to explore skilled trades and technologies without ever having to leave the comfort and safety of the classroom.

Since we cannot be together in person, we have created our brand new: Learn, Try, Compete model. Through this we hope to provide a similar experience to what students would receive from our amazing in-person events. Teachers and students are welcome to participate in one, two, or all three of our offerings.

LEARN

Skills Canada – Nova Scotia’s Annual Career Showcase is back! This year (like many other things), it looks a little different! We’ve gone virtual, so that students are able to explore skilled trades and technology careers right from the convenience and safety of their classroom. Discovering careers has never been easier!

On May 3rd, students can visit virtual booths to get a snapshot into a variety of skilled careers with just the click of a button.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Click the link above and provide your email address to register. On the day of the event, simply providing your email address will give you access to the career showcase! It’s that easy.

TRY

Skills Canada – Nova Scotia is teaming up with industry partners to offer Try-A-Trade® Take-Out. Teachers will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of skilled trades and technology industries, and register for their students to receive a hands-on introduction to it!

Each Try-A-Trade®  Take-Out kit will contain the necessary materials required for each student to complete the activity, as well as instructions, tutorial videos, and insights into the specific trade from an industry representative! Materials and kits will be provided by Skills Canada – Nova Scotia free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE: there are limited quantities available, so please register for Try-A-Trade® Take-Out early.
