Overview:
Skills Canada Nova Scotia’s (“SCNS”) Nova Scotia Skills Competition (the “Competition”) is an exceptional opportunity, but it does involve certain risks, dangers, hazards and liabilities for all participants. These include personal injury, death, illness, property loss or damage, expense and other loss. All persons taking part in the Competition are required to accept any liability or risk of injury, loss, damage or expense sustained as a result of any person’s participation in the Competition as his or her own.
Each participant in the Competition (and their parent/guardian, if applicable) is required to sign this form, which releases SCNS, and persons associated with it, from any claims which might arise from participation in the Competition.
Tools, Equipment, and Materials:
All personal tools, equipment and materials are the responsibility of the Competitor, and SCNS shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to such personal items notwithstanding that SCNS or the host facility may provide a storage area. All materials and finished products remain the property of SCNS.
Privacy Statement:
SCNS respects your privacy by protecting your personal information and adhering to all legislative requirements with respect to protecting privacy. SCNS does not rent, sell, or trade mailing lists, and participants’ information will only be used to keep you informed about SCNS activities.
Disclosure of Information:
I understand and agree that information pertaining to participation in the Competition, including but not limited to names, occupation, status as a student or apprentice, and standings in the Competition may be shared with or released to the media for coverage of the event.
