Discovering Skills Presentation Information & Request Form:

Presentation Timelines:

  • Sept 16 – Oct 4: All 2024/25 scheduling and correspondence.
  • Oct 7 – Dec 13: Fall Presentations
  • Jan 6 – Mar 7: Winter Presentations
  • Mar 17 – May 23: Spring Presentations (limited space due to NS Skills Competition season)

Note: The majority of presentations requiring overnight travel will take place during Wednesday-Friday and spread across the fall and winter time blocks.

Target Audience (NEW for the 2024/25 School Year)

In an effort to reach more students province-wide with less duplication year-over-year, our Discovering Skills Presentations will now be delivered exclusively to students in grade 10 across Nova Scotia. Some exceptions apply.

For all students who fall outside of grade 10, teachers are encouraged to check out our Skills for Success Workshops (grades 7-9), Try-a-Trade™ Takeout program (grades 7-12), on-demand Skills 101 video series (grades 7-12), and the Nova Scotia Skills Competition (grades 9-12).

    Reminder: Presentation is delivered to grade 10 students. Some exceptions apply.
  • If you selected "other" above, please elaborate (i.e. adult education, small school, etc.)
  • Please indicate if there are any dates you are unavailable and/or any dates that are preferred (ie. Tuesdays/Thursdays work well, Fridays do not). Please note: presentations are delivered across the province from October to May. Scheduling will depend on presenters availability in your region, as such, preferred dates are not guaranteed.
  • Please indicate if your group requires any accommodations, or if there is any outstanding information/questions you would like the presenter to be aware of.
