Spoken Word by Chris Gallant, Promotions Coordinator – Skills Canada – Nova Scotia

Hi, I’m Chris and my responsibility as the Promotions Coordinator with SCNS has been to hop into classrooms, from grades 8-12, to talk to students about their future – what they could be doing, what we offer, and you know, life. While doing that, I decided I want to do something the students would remember.

So, I crafted what I refer to as ‘spoken word’ piece, but more of an acapella rap to the students. I’d give my presentation, throw out my stats and stories, play a few games and then recap everything with the spoken word. Turns out, it was pretty good. Students were loving it. Then I got word I could perform it at the 2016 Skills Excellence Awards, and because of that, I’m able to share it with you! So check it out!
